TOTAL LIFE KIDS TRYATHLON

It is the 24th year of the Total Life Kids TRYathlon in 2026!

The Kids TRYathlon will be held on a Sunday in late March/early April 2026 at Splash Palace and Rugby Park, Invercargill.

Changes to Categories: 

Any children aged 5 and below must only enter the Dash. This is due to safety requirements. 

Only children 6 and above can enter the swimming and biking categories. 

Date: March/April 2026

What: A pool swim (or 'dash') followed by a multi-lap off-road bike (or scoot) and a 'zig-zag' run course through Rugby Park Stadium. Individual or team options. All kids over 120cm can add in a slide down the waterslideas part of their course!

Cost: $25 per child - which includes a t-shirt, finishers medal, bbq, and a chance to win some awesome spot prizes!

Time:  

8.30-9.30am - Race pack collection, race numbering and drop bikes into transition area 

9.30-10am - Warmup and Briefing at Splash Palace. Participants moved to start locations. 

10am - Race start at Splash Palace 

Prizegiving will be held 15 minutes after the final competitor finishes. 

Distances and Events: 

Dash  1.5km run (for all children 5 and below)

Mini Splash and Dash (No swimming or biking level): Wading the learner's pool and 1.5km run 

Splash, Bike/Scooter and Dash (No swimming level): Wading the learner's pool, 4km bike or 2km scooter and 1.5km run 

6 to 10 years: 100m swim, 4km bike and 1.5km run 

11 to 14 years: 200m swim, 8km bike and 1.5km run
